Mary Jane Butters dropped out from the forestry program in college and signed on as a lookout on a remote fire tower. Just a few years later in 1974, she became one of the first female wilderness rangers in the US stationed at the Moose Creek, one of the most remote Service Districts in the lower 48 states. In 1986, Butters settled down on her organic ranch in Idaho to raise her children and is now an organic farmer, operating Paradise Farms Organic Inc., as well as a magazine, newspaper column, bed & breakfast, and nonprofit.
Glamping with Mary Jane embodies Butter’s self-reliance and rustic creative charm. It’s sure to be an inspirational and empowering read for the girl glamper in all of us.
